Digital public infrastructure (DPI) is increasingly recognised as a foundation for effective digital government. But building shared digital infrastructure is about more than technology. It requires governments to rethink how they organise, collaborate, and invest across institutional boundaries.

In this lunchtime event, David Eaves, Associate Professor of Digital Government at University College London and Co-Deputy Director of the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, will explore how governments are moving from siloed digital systems towards shared DPI. Drawing on international examples, he will discuss what this shift means for public administrations, how governments can build the capabilities needed to support it, and what financing models can enable long-term investment in DPI.
